To Our Valued Clients
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, much of our practice has been affected in the way we delivery services. Many of our clients have been moved to other platforms, such as Telephone sessions or video services with their therapists. Overall, this change has been positive for many clients and continue where possible as recommended.
We have found some clients are not able to successfully able to use these platforms for number of different reasons. In this case we do have a select few therapists that are doing face to face appointments, please be sure to call and ask administration before hand.
Alberta Health has deemed our profession as an essential service though we are encouraging individuals to use virtual services whenever possible but are available to see individuals in person when necessary. We have put all measures into place as outlined by Alberta Health to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Our risk mitigation strategies involve several measures taken by our therapist, administrative staff and our clients.
- When you arrive at your appointment, please stay in your vehicle and phone the front desk at 780-570-1230 or by email at [email protected] and let them know you have arrived. Stay in your vehicle and the front-end staff will call or text you when we are ready for you to come in.
- There will be a pre-screening for Covid-19 done as soon as you walk into our office that will include:
- You will need to use hand sanitizer as you enter the office
- You will need to wear a mask for the time you are in the building and have the option of wearing gloves as well (these must be new masks and gloves not ones being used prior to entering the building)
- You will sign a liability waiver
- You will be asked a few questions related to Covid-19
- Your temperature will be taken
Feel free to bring your own PPE and if you do not have any, it will be offered to you!
- We will be social distancing in the office, so please be patient with the staff.
While you are in the therapist’s office, the front-end staff will disinfect the front area and between each client the therapist will be disinfectant in their offices.
To some, this may seem like extreme measures but we will all do our part to flatten the curve so we can return to some semblance of normalcy.
Thank you for your co-operation in this matter so that we can continue to see clients that are not able to see their therapist through other means comfortably.
Marney Howard, M.Sc., Registered Psychologist
Dear Howard Psychological Clientele,
In the interest of being proactive against the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented changes.
As such, during this difficult time ALTERNATIVE PLATFORMS OF THERAPY ARE AVAILABLE.
There is no indication of anyone having coronavirus at the office, but we are doing this as a preventative measure. To do online therapy you would require a computer with camera and microphone capabilities, a smart phone would work as well. For telephone counselling you require a telephone with a clear connection. And make sure you have a quiet and private room for yourself.
Any urgent in person needs we can be accommodated, please call the office at 780-570-1230.
We understand times are hard and are also looking to offer sliding scale payments for individuals in need.
We are available by email at [email protected] or by phone at 780-570-1230 to answer any questions you may have and/or to walk you through the process.
